Documentation

Real help from someone who wants you to succeed.

Open Source Bookmarking and more.

I've got plans. 😉

Shareable Bookmarks Got a bunch of useful Cat resources? Send a new cat owner a link to your posts tagged with #cats

Private Bookmarks Sometimes you need to bookmark a topic that you don’t want to share with everyone. Private bookmarks can only be viewed by you.

Full-Text Search Searches everything including the contents of the page you bookmarked. Full text search means that it doesn’t matter if key word was ‘reading’ or ‘read’. Stemming functionality means both will find what you’re looking for.

Automated Imports Currently we can just import from Pinboard.in, but importing others from browsers & other sites is on the Todo list.

Open Source Mostly. 😉 You can do whatever you want, so long as you don’t sell it.

[Planned] Mastodon Bookmarks What if you had a copy of everything you “bookmark” on Mastodon?

[Planned] allowing you to make more of your life searchable I’ve got ideas. Maybe you’ve got ideas. It’d be nice to have safe, central place to search for more things in our lives.

Plans within plans…

Here's what I'm thinking

Stage 1 (You Are Here)

Geekery Required

Installation requires basic command-line familiarity and willingness to follow a documented series of steps.

It works, but it isn’t very accessible to non-geeks.

Features
  • Bookmarks
  • Markdown Archives

Stage 2

Hidden Geekery

Everything bundled together in a single disk image or docker image.

Raspberry Pi disc images that non-geeks can use to set up a local server with minimal know-how.

Default setup works without any command line configuration.

Stage 3

Stars & Wishes

What we do next will be determined by the users, and what we think would be most helpful to keep this moving forwards.

Features
  • Stage 1 & 2 plus…
  • Archiving more things
  • Hopes
  • Dreams
  • Stars
  • Wishes
